Legible City

is a concept to improve people's understanding and experience of a conurbation via the  implementation of identity, information and transport projects integrated with artist's work. It's a key component of the commmunity centric arts lead sustainable (znout) urban regeneration paradigm adopted by the chapelhay community partnership.

cheers then

Right you cone-toed wastrel, this has never happened to me before
so I'm guessing it's entirely your fault.

The right shoe is wonderful. It feels as natural as a baby in the
womb. My foot feels naked without it. Thank you for the right shoe.

But for some reason, the left shoe is a puckered vanishing point
of squeezy torment. I feel like a fashionably deformed Chinese
girl every time I slide my poor crunched toes into its
ridiculously underwhelming cavity. Plenty of room round the ankle,
vice-like pressure round the tip. Why is this? Is it me? Or were
both shoes originally like this, with the right one eventually
expanding to accommodate your proper foot while the left one
stayed contentedly abnormal around your polio-ridden screwdriver
of a left?

Thanks again.

Chapelhay Community Partnership

Chapelhay Community Partnership have saved the old town hall. It's going to be restored and become a civil war/art centre. Awesome.

The partnership don't have much of a web presence as yet but I'm hoping to change that soon...

Fair Usage Policies and Monthly Usage Allowances are So Unfair Fair Usage Policies and Monthly Usage Allowances are So Unfair

After being stung twice for exceeding my allowance with two different providers, I thought I'd have a rant about what seems to be a very unfair system.

I've had run ins with these before, policies to stop people and businesses taking liberties with so called unlimited bandwidth plans.

To be fair, it wasn't, fair usage I mean, I was on a plan.

Fair usage (F.U.) got me started because, if you go onto an unlimited plan the companies protect themselves with a F.U. policy, yet very little of any of the system seems fair for the customer. (full article)

Be seen to be green

In today's suddenly and some would say, belatedly, green world and in the throes of the CRUNCH, the travel industry is being hit doubly hard, except in the indigenous (non-flying) holiday markets.

On the one hand people are being told that not flying is the best way to reduce their carbon footprint, on the other they can't afford to fly and their pound no longer packs the punch it used to in foreign climes.

So get green! Being green, if it truly is is good because it helps slow the harm we are doing to our planet, should save you money, and looks great from a Travel Marketing point of view. Make sure any claims you make can be backed up though otherwise this will be one case where bad publicity IS bad publicity.

Obviously push holidays at home or that don't involve flying, use carbon offsetting, plant trees, develop carbon neutral resorts, more holistically think about and work towards sustainable economics, back to the old days in many ways.

These are challenging times for everyone and how we adapt to them is vitally important. The holiday industry can in some ways lead the way and provide a sustainable way to unwind after all the hard work ahead of us.

The History and Meaning of Gollywogs

Was talking about this to the Badger the other day, spookily enough... I thought the origin was probably inherently racist.. This doesn't really clear it up... Conditioning?

WTF is Quark strudel?

It's not made of hypothetical, truly fundamental particles in a meson and baryon sauce (all six flavors) that's for sure. It's some sort of foamy cheese, with raisins in. Sloppy, white, spunky, cheesey, rasiny floppy pastry cock, that's what it is....

Meh

So new year new who?

Still me afraid and unfortunately I'm drooling my mind onto the interweb again.

Stopped smoking for the last time today, have started a course of hypnotherapy (pshycospirituality), because it's free. I think it is useful but no more so than the Paul McKenna CD I listen to everyday for free. I'm determined this time.

Apart from that I now have left Veloce and both my lodgers are leaving. So I need to sort the house, find new lodgers, learn html and regrow my leg.

Hope all yours are going well
