Busy weekend

Well. That was hectic.

WAN way forward meeting, very productive. Then then Kinetica carnival workshops at college, excellent. Luckily just round the corner from me but still quite a hassle to get up, washed, do my exercises and get wheeled there for 10:30. Pretty tricky staying comfy for extended periods but worth the effort.

Physio today. Got some new exercises for muscles I didn't realise I had. He agreed that a fall could mean losing my leg and obviously minimising risk is a key factor for the coming year or two. On a normal crutch for my left arm now too, which is nice.

Round to mine after physio. I'll be living here full time again at the end of the month. Need to get my bed lowered and community physio are hopefully going to help out with some mods (ramp, rails, extra crutches etc.) Quite a lot to sort really. Definitely need a scooter too otherwise I'll only be able to get off Chapelhay independently on crutches, which somewhat limits my speed/range. Not sure where I'll park it though...

Darren picked me up after physio, glorious day again got me back to Chavelhay in time to meet Dean from Warm Front, who says I'm elegible for up to 2700GBP of new heating, which is nice...

So yeah. All go this cripple malarcky, best go have a look at my room...

So far I've applied for warm front heating grant, the cinema thing and a few benefits. Was just looking into ramps and stair lifts but looks like applying takes ages...

Pay Per Post Scam?

Was my immediate thought when I saw their Google adwords ad. Then I figured, you don’t know til you try, and as I had nothing to lose I thought I’d give it a go…

Sign up was straightforward; you don’t have to give out too much info, nothing financial. The website is a little amateurish and unintuitional but serves it’s purpose perfectly well and seems very informative. Once signed in it’s time to look for opportunities, it’s all color coded so it’s easy.

I hadn’t expected such high value bids for posts but there’s all sorts, from $5 to $100+, though I suspect you need to have the maximum tack rating of 5 and some to be eligible. Tack rating is how PPP score your blog based on traffic, popularity, page rank etc.

I didn’t expect my little blog, cripplerant.blogspot.com to get such a good score but I hit three tacks straight off. I was slightly concerned also that the un-politically correctness of my blog name might be an issue, but no, and rightly so.

So, I took my fists opportunity, which was easy, I was amazed how quickly I hit the minimum word limit, I guess it’s because I’m writing about something that interests me, I hope PPP agree!

So now I just need to wait and see if I have my post accepted, and get paid, if so, and from the buzz I think I will, then is fantastic and I would recommend anyone with a blog should sign up
PPP , through me, please.

They should have emailed you and arranged a time to ring you and talk through the options with you, and your current status."

at least, I'd have thought. I gather from colleagues that enquries after my health are few and far between. I never received a card, just a legal request to allow them to approach my consultant.

Steps of doom!

An individual step is 180mm high (rising) and 240mm (going) deep. In total, there are 35 of these to the production office, split over five flights (including the two steps right at the bottom). There are five landings between the first step and the production office door, averaging approximately one meter. Therefore the total horizontal distance travelled in mm is 240x35+(5x1000)=13400, or 13.4 metres, and the total vertical distance is 180x35=6300, or 6.3 metres. Making these dimensions into the short sides of a triangle, it would seem that the total rough distance travelled by someone going up Veloce stairs is the square root of(13.4x13.4) + (6.3x6.3). Which is about 14.8 metres, at an average gradient of 25 degrees. They have black hard rubber noses, covering theleading 75mm of the top surface of each step, with five horizontaltreads running the length of each one at a depth of 1mm. Each nose formsa smooth rounded overhang that juts out 30mm and has a depth of 30mm. None of the steps are loose

Don't ask me how I know this, I have a good memory... Sounds like a lot of climbing, or arse shuffling...
